My Grandfather -Colin Elston Rigby - Captained HM LCI 184 (a 200ft 500 ton Infantry Landing Craft) in WW2. It was built in Newark, New Jersey, in 1941 and he collected it from Norfolk Virginia after being fitted out in January 1942 and sailed it in convoy to Gibraltar (via Bermuda). There are no known photographs of this craft and I wanted to ask the kind followers of this group if they had an information, pictures or details of it. I would be thrilled to see anything you may have. My Grandfather and this boat oversaw "hundreds of beachings, 10,000 miles of sailing and numerous operations" (his words) Also: "From Gibraltar immediately in support of North Africa (Operation Torch) and based at Djedelli with sorties as far as Libya, Tunisia and Algeria. Moved to Malta for the invasion of Sicily then Naples for build-up to Operation Anzio."
