WRNS, WW2, Forte I, II, III, IV
« on: 12 December 2016 09:58:00 pm »

I am trying to learn more about Forte base during World War 2. I am fishing for either general information or hopefully an understanding of why my Wren-relative's record shows her assigned to Forte when in actuality she was serving on St. Mary's in the Scillies (May to November, 1943.) I am aware of  the motor launch component at Falmouth, but that's about all. Thank you all.

Can you post a picture of her record with the relevant entries

It’s easier to read then to guess as RN used abbreviations  in ww2

What makes you say she was at st mary’s And not forte?
