Steam tug "WYOLA"
(1/1)
jamesriley1965:
Good morning, I'm very keen to obtain a copy of ship plans for the steam tug "Wyola"(Reg. No. 131636) built in South Shields UK in 1912 by JT Eltringham & Co.(No.288) for the Swan River Shipping Co. in Western Australia.
The tug served the port of Fremantle in Western Australia for it's entire life of 58 years, apart from service in the Mediterranean during WW1, from 1918-1920, when it was requisitioned for service as a rescue/ salvage tug by the Admiralty.
I have heard that two original plans existed 2 or 3 years ago,(one midships and one other) with some reference to the Admiralty? Can you help me with this please, or suggest someone who might be able to help?
Do you have any information at all, as well as, or apart from ship plans, relating to the Wyola?
I've tried Royal Museum Greenwich, Lloyd's Register Foundation, Tyne and Wear Museum and Archives, and National Museum of the Royal Navy and Admiralty Library(both closed until spring 2020) to name a few, but no luck so far!
Many thanks, I look forward to hearing from you,
James Riley
