Landing Craft Gun (Large) LCG(L)

Does anybody have any information on these vessels on D Day, specifically LCG(L) 17 & 18 off JIG GREEN beach?  Their naval officers were Lieut R E Scammell DSM RNVR (I think) and Lieut S Parr RNVR.  They are not covered by the Narrative Of Bombardment in the Force G report.  Thank you. Ian
