V.I.P. Flight of 781 NAS (1)
« on: 29 May 2012 07:48:54 pm »

Some photos that I took in 1978 while part of the V.I.P. Flight of 781 Naval Air Squadron at R.N.A.S. Lee-on-Solent (M.M.S. Daedalus). Images 1 - 4 show the view from left to right - Q hanger, then the helipad, and finally the flight offices. The last image  shows my aircraft Wessex H.U.5 XT772 parked outside the pay office at H.M.S. Daedalus - this is where we had to park the aircraft to wash them. Swan Hanger is in the background. I was a Naval Air Mechanic (Airframes & Engines) on the flight and this was my first draft after 707 training squadron at RNAS Yeovilton.
