Landing craft assault on D-Day.
« on: 06 October 2022 09:34:57 am »

My late father William Bow (1912 - 1982) served throughout WWII on HMS Prince Charles. He never spoke about the war at all but I'm trying to find out what, where, and when he drove landing craft.  I believe there was a 'Landing Craft Association' but I think that it's now disbanded.

What I have discovered is that he drove the initial US troops to Omaha beach on an LCA, which apparently was a blood bath. Has anyone any idea where I could find his records not only for Omaha beach, but also landings that he may have taken part in at the ill fated Dieppe and the Italy/Sicily landings.
